Haunted Hollow at Touch of Nature in Makanda
Join the Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center in Makanda for “Haunted Hollow” on Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Haunted Hollow offers family-friendly Halloween fun for people of all ages and abilities. Enjoy laughs and gasps in a safe and welcoming environment!
Touch of Nature is wheelchair and stroller-accessible. A parent or guardian must accompany children to the event.
Haunted Hollow will offer a mix of free and ticketed attractions. Free activities will include:
- A haunted cabin (not too scary)
- Fall-themed games and crafts
- A”creepy crawlers” exhibit where kids can learn about and even handle snakes and bugs!
The following activities will require tickets:
- Rock wall
- Giant swing
- Pumpkin painting
The Hayride attraction is $3 per rider and is sold separately. Lap riders 3 and under are free. Hayride tickets are first-come, first-served and sell out quickly. Please arrive early to ensure you get a seat.
The Haunted Hollow will take place rain or shine. Please dress for the day’s weather.
Some Touch of Nature activities require a signed waiver to participate. You can print and complete it ahead of time for yourself and your family members to save time at check-in. Waivers will also be available on-site.
