DuPage Children’s Museum Adaptive Play Time

An opportunity for families of children with disabilities to experience the museum with fewer guests and a less stimulating environment

The DuPage Children’s Museum (DCM) in Naperville will host an “Adaptive Play Time” event on Sept. 17 from 8 to 9 a.m.

Families of children with disabilities, on the autism spectrum and/or with sensory sensitivities can spend time exploring and learning together.

Guests can enjoy exhibits featuring hands-on ways to play and create with:

• Fewer guests
• Lower lighting
• Visual cues in exhibits
• A respite room for sensory breaks

Dedicated DCM staff and volunteers will provide a supportive environment. Sensory Kits with noise-reduction headphones, fidget objects, weighted neck wraps, timers, and more are also available.

Tickets are $22 per person. Infants under 1 year old and DCM Members are free. Financial assistance is available.
