National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
The national NAMI website provides information on supports, services and treatment options that may help. The NAMI National Helpline is (800) 950-NAMI (6264). You can also text “HELPLINE” to 62640 or go to NAMI.org/help to chat with a HelpLine specialist.

National Alliance on Mental Illness West Central Illinois Behavioral Health Resource Guide
The National Alliance on Mental Illness West Central Illinois (NAMI WCI) advocates for better lives for individuals who have a mental illness, and to erase stigmas associated with mental health, support and treatment. Headquartered in Mt. Sterling, NAMI WCI serves residents in Adams, Brown, Cass, Greene, Hancock, McDonough, Morgan, Pike, Schuyler and Scott counties.
NAMI WCI supports anyone concerned about mental illnesses and the treatment of mental illness. Its resources include:

- An up-to-date calendar of events and support groups

National Association of the Deaf
The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) preserves and promotes the civil, human and linguistic rights of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in the United States and U.S. territories. Resources include videos in American Sign Language (ASL) on a wide range of topics, a list of universities and education resources by state, webinars and more for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, their families and friends.
National Center for Hearing Assessment & Management
Supports early and continuous screening and works to ensure newborns with hearing losses are identified.
National Center for Learning Disabilities
The National Center for Learning Disabilities provides resources for parents and caregivers, educators, young adults and learning disability champions.
National Center on Deaf-Blindness
The National Center on Deaf-Blindness (NCDB) is part of a network of projects for children and youth with deaf-blindness (birth through 21) providing information and learning and development tools for families and educators. NCDB resources include:

- Practice guides and professional development
- Spanish resources
NCDB includes state deaf-blind projects in every state, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, the Pacific Basin and the Virgin Islands.
National Child Traumatic Stress Network Resources for Parents and Caregivers
The National Child Traumatic Stress Network provides a variety of resources for parents, caregivers and youth related to different types of childhood trauma, including coping with hard times, grief, hospitalizations and more.
Resources are available in English and Spanish.
National Consortium on Deaf-Blind
Clearinghouse is a federally funded information and referral service for children ages 0-21 years who are deaf-blind. Site provides access to a broad spectrum of information at no cost.
National Deaf Center on Postsecondary Outcomes
The National Deaf Center on Postsecondary Outcomes (NDC) shares information, networks, and strategies to improve continuing education and training for deaf people. It offers online courses, online gaming tools for youth, evidence-based resources, webinars and more.
NDC resources include:
- Free online learning modules and webinars for teens, college students and professionals
- Planning tools, tips and more for high school and college students
- Disability services providers portal and online training modules
- Deaf culture and awareness resources
- Deafverse, a choose-your-own-adventure online game created just for deaf teenagers
The National Diaper Bank Network connects and supports the country’s more than 200 community-based diaper banks that collect, store and distribute free diapers to struggling families. The website includes a list of member diaper banks in Illinois.
