  • Menard County Housing Authority – Housing Choice Voucher Program and Other Programs

    The Menard County Housing Authority provides the Housing Choice Voucher Program, Project-Based Vouchers, Tenant Protection Vouchers, and Emergency Housing Vouchers in Alexander, Bond, Casey, Clinton, Coles, Crawford, Douglas, Fayette, Jackson, Jasper, Livingston, Macoupin, Massac, Menard, Monroe, Moultrie, Perry, Pulaski, Randolph, Scott and Wabash counties.

    The website also includes resources for Menard County residents for help with food, utilities, employment, education, and other programs and services.

  • My Pantry Express

    Northern Illinois Food Bank has launched My Pantry Express, an online source for groceries. The program allows families in need of food assistance to choose specific grocery items and pick them up at a preferred participating location.

    Pickup locations are available in the following counties: DeKalb, DuPage, Lake, Will, Winnebago.

  • Northeast Community Fund in Decatur

    Northeast Community Fund helps families in the Decatur and Macon County community with food, clothing, household goods and funding for utility payments, obtaining IDs, baby formula and wipes, emergency lodging and prescription medicines. The organization’s food pantry provides monthly food baskets to those in need. It also operates a microfinance program and a program for families to work with a staff member and mentor to achieve short- and long-term goals to move towards self-sufficiency.

  • Northern Illinois Foodbank

    The Northern Illinois Food Bank delivers food and healthy eating services across 13 counties (Boone, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Will and Winnebago counties). The Northern Illinois Food Bank provides weekly drive-thru Mobile Markets with free and fresh groceries, an online food pantry, a recipes and nutrition hub, and free economic mobility learning resources.

  • People’s Resource Center

    People’s Resource Center (PRC) serves DuPage County residents. It offers a food pantry, computer access, financial assistance, an art program, a clothes closet and more. Residents need to register to receive services.

  • RentAssistance Search

    RentAssistance provides a directory of rental assistance agencies and organizations that will help you pay your rent. Some listings are government organizations other are non-profits and charities that offer rental assistance programs.

    Each organization has its own eligibility rules and conditions and you are encouraged to call directly to find out what you need to do.

  • Renter and Homeowner Resources from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

    The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPD) offers a variety of resources for homeowners and renters. Resources include information about tenant rights, assistance for landlords, mortgage assistance, rent assistance, utility assistance and more.

  • Resource Directory for Illinois Families With Young Children Experiencing Homelessness and Housing Insecurity

    This resource directory from the Illinois Early Learning Project provides contact information, descriptions of programs, state agencies, and non-profit organizations in Illinois that provide support for families of young children experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.

    The directory includes food resources, housing resources, clothing and diaper resources and more.

  • Sacred Heart Food Pantry Rock Island

    The Sacred Heart Food Pantry and Distribution Center is managed and run by volunteers. The pantry is open daily from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Rock Island Township Hall, 2827 7th Avenue, in Rock Island. Area residents can pick up food once a month (Scott County residents can come to the pantry once and will be given a list of agencies and food pantries in Iowa). Food is provided based on the number of people in the household.

    The Sangamon County Department of Community Resources strives to improve the quality of life for people in-need in Sangamon County through department programs, services and referrals that promote economic stability and/or self-motivation.
