 ctober\n\nOctober is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month.\n\nJoin the N
 ational Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) for this month-long webinar series to
  support caregivers of individuals with Down syndrome. The series will cov
 er a variety of important topics from Oct. 2 through Oct. 30.\n\nLearn abo
 ut "Understanding and Supporting Trauma in Adults with Down Syndrome" on O
 ct. 21 from 12 to 1 p.m.\n\nAdults with Down syndrome who have experienced
  trauma may exhibit unique behaviors and symptoms that can be challenging 
 to recognize and understand. As a caregiver\, it’s not always easy to kn
 ow how to best support your loved one coping with the effects of traumatic
  stress.\n\nRuth Brown\, PhD\, director of HOPE (Healthy Outcomes and Psyc
 hosocial Equity) Lab at Virginia Commonwealth University\, will help careg
 ivers gain a deeper understanding of how trauma can present differently in
  adults with Down syndrome.\n\nRuth will discuss:\n\n 	Practical strategie
 s and evidence-informed approaches for providing meaningful support\n 	Hel
 pful resources for families navigating trauma-related challenges\n\nThe we
