DESCRIPTION:Free training for Illinois residents interested in becoming an 
 Educational Surrogate Parent for children with disabilities\n\nWould you l
 ike to make a difference in the life of a child with a disability?\n\nJoin
  the Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center for “Educatio
 nal Surrogate Parent Training” on Zoom on Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.\
 n\nAn Educational Surrogate Parent (ESP) provides advocacy and support at 
 educational meetings for students with disabilities who are in the care of
  the state of Illinois or who don’t have parent/guardian representation.
 \n\nIn addition to attending a training session\, ESP requirements include
 :\n\n 	Completing all required paperwork\n 	Participating in a background 
 check\n 	Communicating in a timely manner with Illinois State Board of Edu
 cation representatives and Family Matters staff as the program requires\n\
 nThere is a need for ESP volunteers in all Illinois counties.\n\nYou can w
