SUMMARY:Therapeutic Horseback Riding in Champaign-Urbana
DESCRIPTION:Opportunity for youth with disabilities ages 5 and up to learn 
 about riding and caring for horses\n\nDreaming of riding horses and learni
 ng how to care for them?\n\nJoin Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation (CUSR
 ) at Healing Horse Stables from March 23 to April 27. Participants will me
 et at the stables each Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.\n\nExperience riding
  and taking care of horses. Sessions will include:\n\n 	An hour-long ridin
 g lesson with a P.A.T.H. (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horseman
 ship)-certified instructor\n 	Learning how to groom and saddle a horse\n\n
 In addition to being fun\, the therapeutic horseback riding program can he
 lp individuals with:\n\n 	Increasing concentration and balance\n 	Improvin
 g coordination\, muscle tone and body awareness\n 	Forming connections in 
 a non-judgmental environment\n\nParticipants must wear closed-toed gym sho
 es or cowboy boots. Participants should also wear long pants to protect th
 eir legs.\n\nScholarships and payment plans are available. Download the sc
 holarship application form and other important documents.\n\nRegister for 
 the therapeutic horseback riding class on CUSR's website. Sign-up ends on
