DESCRIPTION:A free\, virtual transition to adulthood training series for Il
 linois parents/caregivers of youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) age
 s 14 to 22\n\nJoin The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP) for the next Ad
 vocating for Supports to Improve Service Transitions (ASSIST) virtual trai
 ning program  "Housing\, Independent Living and Enabling Technology" on M
 arch 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. Classes meet via Zoom on Mondays at 6 p.m.\n\nTra
 nsitioning from school-based to adult service systems is challenging for m
 any families of youth on the autism spectrum. The TAP ASSIST webinar seri
 es aims to give caregivers information\, understanding and the tools for n
 avigating their journey.\n\nThis session will feature presenter Laurie Wil
 liams\, founder of the Collaborative Community Housing Initiative (CCHI). 
 She will provide information and resources on:\n\n 	Housing\n 	Independent
  living\n 	Enabling/assistive technology\n\nLaurie and her husband were in
 spired by their son\, Zachary\, to form CCHI. She is a leader in the grass
 roots movement to create inclusive living options with volunteer families 
 and stakeholders throughout the country. Collaborating with educators\, or
 ganizations\, housing specialists and urban planners\, CCHI is encouraging
  public dialogue about inclusion and community problem-solving regarding a
 ffordable housing for people with intellectual and developmental disabilit
 ies.\n\nRegister for Housing\, Independent Living and Enabling Technology 
 online. You can register for as many sessions as you want to attend.\n\nWe
 binars run through May 13. Each session features an expert-led presentatio
