DESCRIPTION:Scholarship opportunity for DuPage County residents who are low
 -income with high academic potential\n\nThe DuPage County Department of Co
 mmunity Services is offering college and occupational training scholarship
 s for individuals who are low-income with high academic potential.\n\nThe 
 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Scholarship is a competitive award p
 roviding help to pay for tuition\, books\, supplies and other school-relat
 ed items for a semester or a quarter.\n\nRecipients can use the scholarshi
 p for formal education or occupational training in an accredited Illinois 
 educational institution. They can also use it for short-term training (two
  years or less) in growth occupation skills.\n\nApplicants must have a min
 imum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be:\n\n 	CSBG income-eligible (see applica
 tion for guidelines)\n 	A DuPage County resident\n 	Enrolled or accepted a
 t an Illinois-accredited higher educational or occupational training insti
 tute\n\nThe CSBG Scholarship program will select recipients on a competiti
 ve basis. Students studying in high technology areas or other growth occup
 ations will receive priority.\n\nCSBG Scholarship application forms are av
 ailable on the DuPage County Government website. You can also pick up inf
 ormation at the DuPage County Department of Community Services office duri
 ng business hours.\n\nThe deadline to submit your application and supporti
 ng documents is May 3 by 4:30 p.m.
