SUMMARY:Camp Rhythm Overnight for Youth With Heart Defects in Eureka\, Mo.
DESCRIPTION:An overnight camping experience for area youth ages 8 to 17 wit
 h congenital or acquired heart defects\n\nJoin St. Louis Children's Hospit
 al for Camp Rhythm from July 30 to Aug. 3.\n\nCamp Rhythm is a safe enviro
 nment where campers with congenital or acquired heart defects can make mak
 e new friends and memories.\n\nThe camp aims to help campers:\n\n 	Know th
 ey are not alone in living with heart disease\n 	Create an environment whe
 re it is "normal" to be sick\, tired\, have scars and take medication\n 	F
 eel accepted and build confidence\n\nCampers will have a chance to bond wi
 th others while participating in a wide range of activities\, including:\n
 \n 	Fishing\n 	Swimming\n 	Sports and games\n 	Arts and crafts\n 	Archery\
 n 	DJ Dance Night\n 	Campfire cookouts and more\n\nMedical staff includes 
 a minimum of a nurse and a pediatric cardiologist who are available at all
  times. Camp staff also includes a certified child life specialist\, pedia
 tric social worker\, cardiac nurses and St. Louis Children's Hospital volu
 nteers.\n\nAll volunteers are 18 years old or older and go through trainin
 g and screenings at St. Louis Children's Hospital before camp.  Camp coun
 selors are adults familiar with heart defects\, including some former pedi
 atric cardiac patients.\n\nSee the Camp Rhythm save the date flyer for mor

 hythm's mini-day camp for younger children ages 5 to 7 born with a heart d
