 in Edwardsville
DESCRIPTION:Free overnight camp focusing on work-based learning\, college a
 nd job exploration for youth who are deaf\, deaf-blind or hard of hearing\
 n\nSouthern Illinois University Edwardsville's (SIUE) Camp Launch will run
  from July 11-18.\n\nCheck-in is on June 11 at 9 a.m. Check-out is on July
  18 at 12 p.m.\n\nCamp Launch is a fun\, innovative overnight camp for you
 th between the ages of 14 and 22 who are deaf\, deaf-blind or hard of hear
 ing. It aims to equip campers with the skills needed to successfully navig
 ate life after high school.\n\nCampers will participate in various activit
 ies geared toward helping them transition from high school to college and 
 employment. Activities will include:\n\n 	Group instruction and individual
 ized coaching to develop interpersonal skills for college\, work and beyon
 d\n 	Twenty-four career-related assessments\n 	Learning about self-advocac
 y and practicing new skills\n 	Presentations from guest speakers who are d
 eaf\n\nCampers can also enjoy:\n\n 	Staying in SIUE residence halls with c
 haperones\n 	Exploring the campus\n 	Taking field trips\n 	Making art proj
 ects\, games and other recreational activities\n 	Eating together at the M
 orris University Center\n\nCamp Launch partners include ACCESS Deaf Servic
 es\, the Chicago Hearing Society\, the Department of Rehabilitation Servic
 es (DRS)\, the Illinois School for the Deaf and 360 Degree Academy.\n\nCam
 p Launch is free. Campers must be currently enrolled in high school\, have
  an open case with DRS and be between the ages of 14 and 22 years old to a
